February 6th 2021 a client brought in a A1706 MacBook Pro®, for the issue of no power. Initially when disassembling the unit the board looked flawlessly clean. We took the board out of the chassis and flipped it over (looking for liquid damage) we did not find any, but found a blown up capacitor on PPBUS_HS_CPU rail. Luckily there was no damage to the CPU after 24 hours of stress testing our client got back a working Macbook® with all of their data!
